Visa at Dragonia: instant in, business days out
A Visa card is the default choice for most Italian players simply because it is already in their wallet, and at this cashier it behaves the way cards behave everywhere: instant on the way in, considerably slower on the way out. That gap is the single most important thing to understand before you pick this rail, so this page treats the deposit and the withdrawal as two different products. We are an independent review portal, not the operator, and the numbers below are what our own card transactions produced. The review starts at the homepage.
Visa at a glance: deposit and withdrawal
| Direction | Minimum | Time | Fees |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deposit | €20 | Instant | None from the casino |
| Withdrawal | €25 | 1–3 business days | None from the casino |
The floors are deliberately different: €20 to put money in, €25 to take it out. A card payout is processed as a refund against the original transaction, and refunds are more expensive to handle than authorisations, which is where the extra €5 comes from.
Depositing with a Visa card
Enter the card number, expiry and CVV in the cashier, then complete the 3-D Secure step your bank triggers — in Italy that is normally a push notification in the banking app or a one-time code. The balance credits the moment the authorisation succeeds, and the transaction appears on your statement almost immediately. Debit, credit and prepaid Visa cards all work; the name embossed on the card must match the name on the gaming account.
The failure that catches people out is not a technical one. Several Italian issuers block gambling merchant category codes by default, either as a bank policy or because the cardholder once activated a self-exclusion block. When that happens the payment is declined at the bank rather than at the casino, and no amount of retrying will change it — the fix, if you want one, lies with the issuer.
Withdrawing to a Visa card
Payouts go back to the card that funded the account, in line with the same-method rule that governs every rail here. The minimum is €25, and the operator states a window of 1–3 business days. Its own approval is the fast part; the rest is the card scheme and your bank moving a refund, which no casino can accelerate.
Two consequences follow. First, weekends do not count, so a Friday request realistically lands on Tuesday. Second, a card refund sometimes shows up on the statement with the original transaction date rather than the settlement date, which makes it look as though nothing arrived — check the available balance rather than the transaction list. The global ceilings of €5,000 per day and €30,000 per month apply here as to every other method, and the wider process is described under how to withdraw.
Fees, verification and the small print
The operator declares no fee in either direction and our test transactions credited in full. What can still cost you is your own issuer: some banks treat a gambling deposit as a cash advance and price it accordingly, with interest accruing from day one on a credit card. That is a card-side charge, invisible at the casino, and worth checking in your own terms before you deposit.
Verification is the other card-specific step. Because a card is easy to use fraudulently, the compliance desk often asks for an image of it with the middle digits and the CVV covered, on top of the usual identity document, selfie and proof of address. The operator states the review closes within 24 to 48 hours; clearing it before you have a payout waiting is what keeps the 1–3 day window from becoming a 5-day one.
When to use a card, and when not to
A Visa card is the right tool if you value familiarity, if you deposit occasionally and cash out rarely, or if your bank is not supported by the open-banking rails. Nothing is faster to set up, because there is nothing to set up.
It is the wrong tool if you expect to withdraw regularly. Trustly moves the same euro from the same bank account and returns it in one to two hours instead of several days, and it never triggers a merchant-code block. If you would rather not have gambling transactions on a card statement at all, Skrill or a bank transfer are the alternatives; the whole comparison sits on the payments hub, with the step-by-step under how to deposit.
